Personality and info!
Feb. 20th, 2021 08:29 pmName: X'rhun Tia
Age: 42
Species: Miqo'te (Seeker of the Sun)
Job: Red Mage
-Noble
X'rhun is an upstanding, highly honorable person, deeply invested in the well being of others. Acts of cruelty, immorality, greed and treachery are surefire ways to upset him, and are often just as offensive to him as a direct insult. There is nothing more vile than betraying the trust of another, to him, no proper excuse for it.
-Brave
When there's fighting to be done, one can expect to see X'rhun there on the front lines, sword in hand and spells at the ready. Though typically not reckless, that doesn't make him any less courageous, in both his actions and his words. He dislikes lying, and while he's kind enough to choose his words well, he isn't afraid to state things that must be said, for better or for worse. One cannot learn, after all, if they don't receive the truth, and a mentor must be bold enough to state as much, despite how much it may hurt to state it. He doesn't shy away from much of anything at all, whether it be engaging in combat, teaching his students, or forging new friendships, being a highly gregarious and outgoing man.
-Fatherly and altruistic
It stands to reason that someone who prides himself on his nobility would also be a giving sort. Always willing to extend a hand to someone in need without a thought of payment in return, the plights and troubles of those who have less than him have always been important to consider and attend to. Most certainly this is because of his own past, and his current status as a refugee from a war torn and oppressed nation. Having lived through his own troubles as a member of a doomed resistance group, and seen his friends and family injured, humiliated or killed by invading Imperials, he has never forgotten what it was like to be brought low. It's unsurprising that he also has a habit of taking in those that seek his tutelage, and has a particular soft spot for children. He will not only offer his knowledge, but his companionship and protection as well for any who might have need of it, and can quickly become attached to those he takes under his wing.
-Charismatic
X'rhun is a dashing, handsome and highly intelligent miqo'te, with a friendly and welcoming personality. His somewhat older age and hard life has served to grind off the jagged, sharper, rougher points of what was once possibly a more abrasive and arrogant man, more convinced now than ever of the importance of having others around. He'd usually prefer to talk rather than fight, only taking up the blade when it's clear that his words fall on deaf ears. Eloquent and well educated, he has a rather flowery way of speaking, which is fairly in line with his entire aesthetic anyway, and tends to come across as a warrior poet, of sorts.
-Confident (occasionally overly so)
He's good at what he does, and he knows it. A master of the art of red magic, he has the utmost confidence in his skills, and eagerly seeks to share the knowledge he's gained over the years with others. While aware of his own weaknesses, he's also fairly sure that so long as he has a plan in place, he'll have covered those weaknesses well enough. This isn't to say that he isn't above acting overconfident, however. First attempting to go after an old enemy alone without help, certain that his students would only injure themselves in trying to help him, and then again when he underestimated the power of that enemy himself. That second mistake had quite nearly been his last, and it's safe to say that while he learned a lesson there, it hasn't made much of a dent in his own sense of self confidence.
-Guilty
X'rhun personally blames himself for the death of the Crimson Duelists, the band of red mages he once traveled with and fought alongside. His trust in one of them, once a dear friend, lead to the betrayal and murder of the entire group save for himself. While he doesn't let this sense of guilt fog his thoughts, it was his driving motivation for many years after the duelists fell. He has moved forward with his survivor's guilt, rather than leaving it behind, and it might be too difficult now for him to let it go. Part of what drives him to teach red magic, and the ways of the duelists themselves, is to honor the lives of the friends he lost, seeking now to preserve the ancient art of red magic so that it will continue on for generations to come.
